The Australian Local Government Superannuation Association (ALGSA), ABN 87 237 927 051, has been in existence informally for 10 years. Recently the ALGSA has been formally established to:

  promote co-operation between Local Government superannuation funds across Australia
  improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations of Local Government superannuation funds
  develop ways of sharing resources to achieve better outcomes for members
  provide a "voice" for Local Government superannuation funds within the superannuation industry
  provide a forum for the development of staff and trustees
  promote the development of new ideas and ideals for the benefit of Local Government superannuation funds
